CMP Out of Ammo
 

Aloha All
Looks like the days of cheap 30-06 and 30 Carbine ammo are over. As of 9-28
the CMP is not accepting any new orders. Orders that are in house will be processed. They still have Garands and Carbines, just no ammo.

Time to reload. Anyone know an M2 ball recipe?

Glad I have been saving all of that brass. I have hundreds of brass shells now, and lots of M2 ball that I have bought over the years. I was thinking of selling it, but not anymore.

I think there is a commercial maker out there somewhere making M2 ball. Probably expensive.

CMP is the best. Got a Greek rack M1 for $300 about 5 years ago. Beautiful rifle, was a steal!!!

Hmmm, I just went to the North Store and picked up 4 tins of 30-06 240 rounds in a tin for $94 apiece.

Nice deal!

They had pallets of it there.

Kind of sucks that it is only 1/2 hr away from me though.

Anyone know if you actually go to the Camp Perry location if you can get it in person in the store?

Is it online only that is out?

Oh sorry, I did read it...I apparently didn't comprehend it very well though...and didn't correlate the North Store to the Camp Perry store.

47.0 Grains of IMR 4895, 150 grain bullet, Winchester or CCI Large Rifle primer, Lake City Brass.

If you want to use Rem or Win brass you can take the powder charge up another .5 to 1.0 grains.

That is almost exactly how I load mine. I go with 47.4g of powder and it shoots great!
